Uniper was granted outline planning consent by Medway Council in August 2023, to enable the redevelopment of the site, which covers a total area of approximately 279 acres (113 hectares).
Just over half of the site, 152 acres (62 hectares) is readily developable land. In addition a Reserved Matters planning application for the main access to the site, and the required utilities to enable development has also been approved by the local planning authority, Medway Council.
If you would like to view the documents submitted with our Reserved Matters planning application, please visit the Council's planning website: www.publicaccess1.medway.gov.uk/online-applications and enter reference: MC/24/0421.
Uniper's vision is to redevelop the site for new employment space, which stimulates the local economy by attracting leading national and international companies, creating a range of resilient employment opportunities, and helping to deliver long-term investment in Medway. The development has the potential to include a mixture of commercial, manufacturing, industrial, distribution, data centre and energy uses.
A range of businesses have already shown an interest in locating to MedwayOne, including Low Carbon, providers of energy recovery facilities and Gridlink Interconnector Limited which is looking to develop 1,400 MW electricity interconnector between the UK and France.
This website will be updated with any new information as we progress with the redevelopment of the site, and you can find the latest updates in the News section.
