Powering Growth

This is MedwayOne the former Kingsnorth Power Station site

Learn More

MedwayOne is the regeneration and redevelopment of the former Kingsnorth power station site. MedwayOne will create a modern new employment space on the Hoo Peninsula, Medway in Kent. Leading international energy company Uniper owns the site and is responsible for its redevelopment.

Uniper was granted outline planning consent by Medway Council in August 2023, to enable the redevelopment of the site, which covers a total area of approximately 279 acres (113 hectares).

Just over half of the site, 152 acres (62 hectares) is readily developable land. In addition a Reserved Matters planning application for the main access to the site, and the required utilities to enable development has also been approved by the local planning authority, Medway Council.

Uniper's vision is to redevelop the site for new employment space, which stimulates the local economy by attracting leading national and international companies, creating a range of resilient employment opportunities, and helping to deliver long-term investment in Medway. The development has the potential to include a mixture of commercial, manufacturing, industrial, distribution, data centre and energy uses.
